One of MJA’s earliest projects, the Norman B Leventhal Walk to the Sea is a self-guided walking tour from the Massachusetts State House to Long Wharf tracing the transformation of Boston from it’s roots as a major seaport in colonial times to present day. We installed historical markers throughout the path, highlighting this transformation through displays of historic maps from the Norman B Leventhal Map Collection at Boston Public Library.
